Cooper Tire Reviews
I have had these tires for about 8,000 moles and they still look new. They pull really good I had a set of Firestone destination AT'S on the truck before and would have to lock it in 4H just to get up my driveway now I just ease on up. The traction in the snow is amazing, never had to lock it in 4x4. I just love these tires so far, still wondering what type of wear I will get and haven't had it in deep mud so can't report on mud pulling, light clayish mud they have been excellent. Getting ready to put a set on my Cargo Van here very soon.
Seriously great tires. Better than my old Blizzaks were in snow/ice. Yet you get 50k miles for warranty. It's awesome! The lack a hair of wet traction and dry traction, but I only believe this is due to my open differential rear end on a truck. I'm sure they would be more than fine if you had a locked rear diff. Even so they still drive very predictably and make nearly zero road noise. I've never been so impressed with a set of tires. Very glad I made the purchase. I'm at about 6k miles and they seem to be wearing very evenly and at the normal rate. I can hardly tell any tread is missing yet. You won't be disappointed in these tires. It's winter tires you can run all season. Only reviews I could find were some videos of a Canadian tire seller on youtube doing reviews and they loved the tire as much as I do.
Great quiet ride, they wear well and decent price. I like the fact that they come with a rebate. These tires do not roar on the highway and they are very dependable.
This tire has out performed my expectations. It has extremely good traction on the snow/ice even at highway speeds. Handling is very solid in both dry and wet as well as snowy roads. these are on a 98 toyota 4runner that is a daily driver making 40 mile comutes every day, and this winter we had snow on the ground for 3 strait months.
I have these on a Tacoma running LT's. They perform very well in snow and ice conditions. In deep snow I just air them down and they perform well. The only drawback on them is mud they don't do nearly as well as my Cooper ST Maxx did but the ST didn't do nearly as well on snow and ice as the ATW's do so it's a trade off. I'm in the mud a lot on the farm so the ST Maxx will be my next purchase.
I bought these tires in November 2015 after much research on Toyo Open Country, Yokohama Geolandar and other Cooper Discoverer models. I wanted a fairly quiet all-terrain tire. I regularly tow a small landscape trailer with my 2003 Pathfinder SE. I was replacing Hankook highway tires that were on the truck when I bought it. The Hankooks had worn terribly in a short time so durability was a must. I was attracted to the all-weather rating of the A/Tw as I wanted one tire for the best year round reliability. After reading about the terrific performance in winter conditions and the unique durable compound suitable to dry pavement I was sold on the A/Tw. My SE Pathfinder came with 255/65/16 tires but Cooper did not make the A/Tw in that size so I opted to substitute the base model size of 245/70/16 a little narrower and perhaps actually better suited to driving in the snow. The tires were on sale and were also eligible for a rebate from Cooper. With installation, tax and rebate, the total cost was under $700 - far less than the other tires I was looking at. Well, after more than 10 months of driving and towing my work trailer almost daily I can report that these tires have exceeded my expectations greatly! Ive driven in mountain snow, torrential rain, and numerous trips on British Columbia's highways and Interstate 5 in Washington State. The hot dry summer was no trouble for wear even with the vehicle fully loaded. Highway noise is minimal. Ive even taken them off road on some local logging roads with full confidence. The tires did retain several small stones afterward (3/8-1/2" dia.) but removal was easy. Theyve proven very forgiving against rocks and curbs too. I would highly recommend these tires. The fact I got such an incredible price on them makes them even better. If youre looking for a durable all-terrain tire and want winter performance too, buy the Copper A/Tw you wont regret it!
